A Christmas present for manga fan - Junmai Ginjo Akechi Mitsuhide 720ml
This manga themed sake from famous manga artist Reiji Matsumoto of ‘Space Battleship Yamoto’ fame makes a great gift. The famous samurai depicted is that of Gifu legend Akechi Mitsuhide who was a samurai & taisho (general) in the 15th centruy who had great adventures in the Sengoku period of Feudal Japan. He was also known as the assassin of Oda Nobunaga.
This is a limited edition printing and whilst it is collectable we would advise drinking it within a year as, like most sake, if it is not kept at 5°C or under will not be that good after 1-2 years.
As for the sake itself it is a great drinking Junmai ginjo (polished to 40%) and uses local Hida Homare rice native to Gifu.
