Sake drinking etiquette

Recently I found a great YouTube video with somebody explaining the dos and don’t‘s about drinking Sake. I learnt some things that I did not know previously like not pouring with an upheld palm. Also some of the things I learnt was why the small sake cup called ochoko was small. The reason it is so small it’s because the temperature of the Sake does not change in the time that it takes to drink it. And there are also some handy hints like not pouring from one tokkuri to another. And my favourite one is that when you are pouring Sake into a glass the person who is receiving the sake what to pick up his cup and raise it so that you can easily pour into it.
So I think in the restaurant what we are going to do from now on is educate people to these basic Sake techniques because it makes life easier for everybody and also when we go to Japan we won’t look so silly. :-) Anyway please enjoy this great instructional video.
