Sparkling Sake

Sparkling Sake

People all over the world, Australia also, are finding out about the great taste of sparkling sake. It is incredibly popular now and people of all persuasions and tastes love it.
There are basically two types of sparkling sake. One is the more traditional bottle fermentation variety. It is made in basically the same way as sake but it undergoes a secondary fermentation. This tends to be a little bit more expensive than the other type of sparkling sake. The other type of sparkling sake is lighter prettier and much lower in alcohol, around 5 to 7%. It is made out of sake but it employs gas injection to give it effervescence while keeping the alcohol percentage lower. This is the more popular sake of the two being more affordable and lighter. You can imagine starting a meal with an aperitif of this. Here at Supersake we have both types.
Our most popular bottle fermentation sparkling sake is from Imada shuzo based in Hiroshima. It comes in both 300ml and 500ml format.
The second and newest sparkling sake in our range come from Niigata and is called SAWA. (More on this in a later blog). At under $15 at the time of writing it is great value.
We hope you will try these sakes and find out how delightful they are. And remember, when you want to buy sake in Melbourne Sydney Perth Adelaide Brisbane or anywhere in Australia please come to us.
